Aintree University Hospital have recently admitted that there is a significant backlog of patients waiting to receive treatment in one of the following sectors:
- Gastroenterology
- Hepatology (Liver Disease)
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease
This means that around 10,000 patients have not received vital check-ups, monitoring or investigations, which may mean their condition has become worse or they have not recovered as well as they should have. This could lead to severe or permanent harm.
